RENO, Nev. (Oct. 30, 2006) — PC-Doctor Inc., the world leader in PC system health solutions, today introduced a new solution for original design manufacturers (ODMs) who are designing and manufacturing Microsoft Vista-capable PCs for Dell.
Used by ODMs to validate PC designs before entering production, the PC-Doctor ODM edition for Dell includes the industry’s up-to-date diagnostics for all widely used PC components, script generators to create stress and other validation test, and the company’s Direct System Information™ architecture for comprehensive system information.
"Major manufacturers that use our flagship products have relied upon our software for many years to validate designs and uncover issues before they reach production," said Doug van Aman. "For example, one of our customers discovered a BIOS conflict with a component before production began. If that conflict had reached the market, the customer estimates it would have cost them more than $500,000 in support and service costs."
"We believe our new Vista-capable ODM solution is the first available to Dell ODMs and can create a significant time-to-market and quality advantage," van Aman added.
Like all other PC-Doctor products, the software features fast start-up in less than 15 seconds, no installation requirements, and simple navigation via graphical interfaces. Easy-to-read meters show testing progress, and results — which can be saved and printed -- are displayed in clear, simple language.
Priced at $800 per license with a 25-license minimum requirement, the Vista-capable PC-Doctor software for Dell ODMs is available now. Included in the price is an upgrade to be made available shortly after Microsoft releases its production version of the Vista operating system, which is scheduled next January.
