PC-DOCTOR SHIPPING VISTA-READY SYSTEM HEALTH SOLUTIONS ON NEW SYSTEMS FROM MAJOR MANUFACTURERS
Leading Hardware Diagnostics, System Information and Other Solutions Helps Improve Consumer Experience, Reduce Costs for PC Makers
RENO, Nev. (Jan. 31, 2007) — PC-Doctor, Inc. today announced that its Microsoft Windows Vista-ready system health software is shipping on personal computers made by some of the world’s largest manufacturers. The company’s software gives end-users important diagnostics and other tools that enhance the PC experience, and helps manufacturers reduce hardware warranty and service delivery costs.
The companys Vista-ready diagnostics are available to support the complete PC lifecycle, from design and manufacturing, to support and service. Microsoft publicly announced availability of its Windows Vista operating system on Tuesday.
Weve been working with long-time customers like HP and Lenovo for more than a year to make sure they have Vista-ready system health tools available from Day One, said Doug van Aman, PC-Doctor’s chief marketing officer. Based on comments and inquiries from others in the industry, it appears we have the only fully Vista-capable solutions that are commercially available to help assure quality in factories, support end-users, and repair PCs.
PC-Doctor solutions include up-to-date diagnostics that test the CPU, memory, motherboard, hard drive, CD-ROM and DVD drive, video and audio, keyboard and mouse, and other key components. Examples of leading-edge technologies supported include 64-bit and dual-core CPUs, as well as Blu-ray and dual-layer DVD.
Additionally, the company offers a step-by-step troubleshooting capability based on system information gathered by the software that presents symptoms to the end-user and provides potential solutions, as well as Profiler technology that takes a snapshot of the system configuration, and then tracks changes made to the PC to aid the diagnosis process.
In addition to Windows Vista, PC-Doctor offers diagnostics and other solutions in Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows PE, DOS, Linux and a tiny, specialized test environment developed by the company.
With more than 200 tests in Windows and DOS, PC-Doctor Service Center offers multiple boot options to run from CD or install on the system hard drive. Should a system require depot or on-site service, PC-Doctor Service Center rapidly verifies reported hardware failures and fully tests newly installed components and upgrades prior to returning the system to the customer.
