Frequently Asked Question - Why doesn't PC-Doctor detect a storage device on my MacBook?

Why doesn't PC-Doctor detect a storage device on my MacBook?

Recent MacBook models using NVMe technology are experiencing abnormal errors during hard drive diagnostic testing. Errors include the tests freezing in the midst of being ran, the storage device resetting itself mid-test, and even the entire system locking up.

It has been determined that the NVMe firmware being used in these model MacBooks are the cause of this problem. We have discovered that Apple does not follow the NVMe standard, and Apple NVMe drives will not respond as expected when issued an NVMe command. Because of this, we are unable to address the issue at this time.

Due to the extent of the failures and errors they may cause, NVMe devices in MacBooks have been blacklisted for testing purposes.

We apologize for any inconvenience. We will look forward to addressing this in future releases.
