Certified Hardware Vendor(CHV) Program

PC-Doctor works with all major personal computer manufacturers to reduce the cost of manufacturing and support, and to improve the end user experience. PC-Doctor also works with component vendors to provide the highest quality diagnostics that deliver confidence in time-to-market technologies and commodity components.

Program Description

The CHV program creates a bridge between component vendors, PC manufacturers, and PC-Doctor. PC-Doctor has developed a standard set of diagnostics that meet the needs of PC manufacturers and component vendors alike. PC manufacturers need diagnostics that cover all components and can be used throughout the entire PC life-cycle. Component vendors need diagnostics that can accurately identify problems with components without generating false failures.

Participation in the program allows vendors to self-certify a component or certify that their component is compatible with PC-Doctor diagnostics. Both component vendors and PC manufacturers benefit from this program through ensured compatibility with PC-Doctor, the standard for diagnostic test tools.

PC-Doctor provides component vendors with a detailed test plan to test their components with PC-Doctor. Vendors follow the test plan and report the results to PC-Doctor, who publishes the results in a database used by PC manufacturers when selecting components. CHV participants have an edge in providing industry-standard solutions to PC manufacturers.

Component vendors can write their own PC-Doctor diagnostic modules using the Diagnostic Application Programming Interface (DAPI). PC-Doctor provides the DAPI Software Development Kit for Windows, DOS, and Linux at no additional cost. PC-Doctor often helps component vendors to enhance component coverage in its diagnostics.
