Tests and/or devices missing in Diagnostics System Scans tab

Issue

After opening up Toolbox, some devices such as video cards, monitors or touch screen digitizers are not listed and cannot be tested. Closing and reopening Toolbox does not resolve the issue.

Problem

There is a known bug in Toolbox for Windows causing some display devices to "disappear" from the user interface after relaunching Toolbox.

Resolution

The current workaround is to restart the Toolbox service when the issue presents itself. This can be done in two ways:

  1. Reboot the system
  2. Restart the Toolbox service

To restart the Toolbox service:

  1. Close the Toolbox UI (The status icon will remain in the toolbar. This is expected.)
  2. Open Windows Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC)
  3. Click "More details"
  4. Choose the Services tab
  5. Locate the Toolbox service. It will look similar to "Toolbox_AA1D4E61"
    Note: The alphanumeric characters after the underscore will be random and will not match the example above.
  6. Right click and select "Restart"
  7. Close Task Manager and reopen Toolbox
