How To Change Diagnostic Test Parameters

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of test parameters within PC-Doctor Service Center and assist in altering them, should you choose to do so.

Description

Each test within PC-Doctor Service Center has a set of parameters that act as guidelines for the completion of a number diagnostic testing. These parameters can be altered to better fit the scope of testing in which your environment requires. You may do so by following one of the processes outlined below:

Altering the parameters through the ‘Diagnostics and Tools’ tab

  1. Once the ‘Diagnostics and Tools’ tab has been selected, you may navigate through the list of available diagnostics in the pane on the left hand side of the screen. Upon selecting a device, the corresponding diagnostics will appear within the right hand pane. For example:

  2. Within the right pane, select ‘Parameters…’. This will allow you to tweak the parameters associated with that particular test.

    Note: Test Parameters are not available for every diagnostic test and will vary depending on the test.
    Note: For further information on each particular parameter click on the specific parameter and additional information surrounding these values will be displayed as seen in the above screenshot.
  3. Once you have altered the values click ‘Save’.

Altering the parameters through the ‘Script Editor’ tab

  1. Once the ‘Script Editor’ tab has been selected, you may navigate through the list of available diagnostics in the pane on the left hand side of the screen. Upon selecting a device, the corresponding diagnostics will appear within the right hand pane. You may also select the ‘Load Script’ button and alter the parameters for an existing test script.

  2. Upon selecting device tests or loading a script, the diagnostic tests selected will appear inside the pane on the right. Selecting the ‘Parameters…’ link next to the test  will allow you to tweak the parameters associated with that particular test.

    Note: The example above is utilizing the ‘System’ test script.
    Note: Test Parameters are not available for every diagnostic test and will vary depending on the test.

  3. Once you have altered the values click ‘Save’.
